Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante insists Coventry City will continue to target victory in every match despite their 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League on Monday night.
The 27-year-old provided the assist for Jack Rudoni’s equaliser four minutes after half-time, but Coventry eventually lost after Tottenham scored twice to secure all three points.
Mohammed Kudus also registered an assist for Spurs, setting up James Maddison to open the scoring in the 14th minute.
Both Ghanaian internationals now have two assists in the 2026–27 Premier League season, although Kudus had the satisfaction of helping his side claim victory.
Thomas-Asante says the result will not change Coventry’s approach as they seek to improve their position in the standings.
“We wanted to win today, and we go into every game wanting to win. So nothing changes in that regard,” he said.
Coventry have collected two wins from their opening seven league matches since returning to the English top flight.
The Sky Blues sit 17th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone, and will need a stronger run of results to move away from danger.
Thomas-Asante believes the team can improve as the campaign progresses, with their focus remaining on climbing the table.
“But we back ourselves, and we want to climb up the table. So it's just a start,” he added.
The forward will hope to build on his contribution against Tottenham as Coventry seek to turn their performances into more points.
