CAF names Namibian officiating team for Somalia-Ghana AFCON 2027 qualifier

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a Namibian officiating team for the TotalEnergies AFCON 2027 Qualifier between Somalia and Ghana.

The match will be played at Essipong Sports Stadium on Monday, November 16, 2026, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 GMT.

Namibia’s Mweshitsama Negongo Naftal will referee the fixture. He will be supported by compatriots Alex Muzibwane Lumponjani, who has been named Assistant I, and Klaus Masati Bonifatius, the Assistant II.

Petrus Amutenya, also from Namibia, will serve as the Fourth Official.

Rwanda’s Sekamana Abdoul Khaliq has been appointed Match Commissioner, while Uganda’s Brian Nsubuga Miiro will act as the Referee Assessor. Ghanaian official Danny Adotey has been selected as Broadcast Venue Manager.

Ghana will be seeking a change in fortunes after losing their first two qualifying matches against Cote d'Ivoire and The Gambia.

They will be targeting six points against Somalia as they attempt to revive their campaign.
