Hasaacas Ladies forward Milot Pokuaa targets Black Queens return

Hasaacas Ladies forward Milot Abena Pokuaa is hoping to earn a return to the national team after scoring the winning goal in the 2026/27 Champion of Champions final against Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

She has not played for the national team since 2021 when she suffered a brutal knee injury, which kept her out of action for four years.

The forward struck in the 61st minute to secure a 1-0 victory for Hasaacas at the Otumfuo Astro Turf on Friday, giving the Doo Ladies revenge for their defeat in the Women's Premier League final earlier this year.

Pokuaa, who previously played for Ampem Darkoa on loan during the WAFU B CAF Women's Champions League qualifiers, said representing the national team remains one of her major ambitions as she continues her football journey.

“Of course, yes. I mean, every player's dream is to play for the national team,” she said.

The Hasaacas forward is hopeful that her return to form and continued performances at club level will help her achieve that objective.

“So, as far as I'm back playing football, I'm praying that, by the grace of God, when all things go well, I will get back to the national team and play as I used to do,” she added.

Her match-winning contribution against Ampem Darkoa offers an encouraging start to the new campaign as Hasaacas look to challenge for honours in the Women's Premier League.

Pokuaa had threatened on several occasions before finally breaking the deadlock in the second half, helping her side hold on for victory.

The 2026/27 Women's Premier League is scheduled to begin on the weekend of October 23, providing Pokuaa with another opportunity to build momentum and strengthen her case for national team consideration.
