The 27-year-old midfield enforcer of Ghanaian heritage scooped the individual coveted accolade following his impressive run of form with the White Lions in the Dutch elite division for the month under review
Dutch-born Ghanaian midfielder Tyrone Owusu has been named VriendenLoterij Eredivisie Player of the Month for October in this ongoing 2026/27 football season.
The former ADO Den Haag U21 star, who has made history by becoming the first-ever player of SC Telstar to win the award, netted five times by setting up another one in four game appearances during the immediate past month this term.
A portion of a statement over the bestowment of the individual prestigious accolade of the Ghana-prospect midfielder read: ''Tyrone Owusu has been named Player of the Month in the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie. The Telstar midfielder scored five goals in October and found the net in four consecutive league matches. Owusu was particularly impressive from distance, with four of his five goals coming from outside the penalty area. He is the first Telstar player ever to win the monthly award.''
Following his breakthrough outings with the BUKO Stadion campaigners this season, Owusu has so far taken in 12 appearances across all competitions.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Hague-born native remains eligible to switch international allegiances from the Netherlands to Ghana by playing for the Ghana national football team at the senior level on the international stage.
