Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko says his side are preparing well for a difficult test against FC Samartex as the Ghana Premier League leaders look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
The defending champions travel to DUN’s Park for a Matchday Seven encounter on Sunday, with both sides aiming to strengthen their positions near the top of the table.
Medeama lead the standings with 14 points from six matches, while Samartex sit third, three points behind, and will be hoping to close the gap with a victory on home soil.
Tanko is aware that Medeama’s impressive form has made them a target for their rivals but remains confident his players are ready for the challenge.
“We just had six games and we didn’t lose a game, so definitely we are one of the teams that everyone would like to beat,” he said.
The Medeama coach also acknowledged the difficulty of playing at DUN’s Park, praising Samartex’s quality and the work of their coach.
“We are preparing very well. We know the venue we are going to is very tough to play at. They have a very good team with a very good coach behind them,” Tanko added.
Medeama are the only unbeaten side in the league after six matches and will be determined to extend that run against a Samartex team seeking to make the most of home advantage.
Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
