Lisandro Martinez confronted Ruben Amorim while the Portuguese was in charge of Manchester United.
That is according to The Athletic, who report that the Argentine was unhappy with how his return from injury was being handled by the former Sporting Lisbon head coach.
The ex-Ajax centre-back was returning from an ACL tear that had kept him out for almost a year, forcing him into what he called "months of suffering, uncertainty, anguish and imbalance".
Amorim, who was relieved from his duties at Old Trafford in December, oversaw a wretched tenure that spanned from November 2024.

He replaced Erik ten Hag at the helm, but ultimately was sacked after a stunning press conference where he took aim at the club’s hierarchy and insisted that he was the “manager, not the coach” of United.
Martinez has been in the headlines himself in recent days, criticising “technical director” Jason Wilcox publicly after the 2-0 defeat by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
The defender complained to Amazon Prime Video and CBS Sports about the lack of investment in the United squad, and he doubled down on social media on Wednesday night.
He since apologised after clear-the-air talks with manager Michael Carrick and club chief executive Omar Berrada on Thursday.
The World Cup winner is thought to be keen on leaving United, amid reports that he is unhappy about not being offered a new contract.
His current deal in the north-west expires at the end of this season, and it is believed that he pushed for a move to Atletico Madrid in the summer, which did not materialise.
