Anthony Baffoe Makes Major Revelation About His Future and the GFA Presidency

Former Black Stars player Anthony Baffoe has left the door open to the possibility of becoming the next president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), although he insists that the position is not currently a major ambition for him.

According to a report published by GhanaWeb on Thursday, October 15, 2026, Baffoe made the remarks while discussing the possibility of leading Ghana’s football governing body.

“It doesn’t drive me but you never know about tomorrow,” he said.

His statement has generated interest among football followers because of his longstanding association with Ghanaian football and his experience as a former Black Stars player. His comments have prompted discussions about whether he could consider moving into football administration at some point in the future.

However, Baffoe has not declared any intention to contest for the GFA presidency. His remarks suggest that although the position is not currently driving his ambitions, he is leaving open the possibility of considering it in the future.

The GFA presidency is one of the most influential positions in Ghanaian football. The association oversees the organisation and administration of the domestic game, coordinates major competitions and manages the country’s national teams.

Its leadership also plays an important role in shaping policies that affect clubs, players, coaches, referees and other stakeholders. Issues such as improving the domestic league, developing young talents, strengthening the national teams and enhancing confidence in football administration remain important subjects among supporters.

Given Baffoe’s background in the game, his comments have naturally attracted attention from those interested in the future leadership of the association. Some may view his playing experience as relevant to a possible administrative role, while others may wait for a clearer indication of his intentions before drawing conclusions.

For now, there is no confirmed indication that Baffoe is preparing a campaign or taking formal steps towards contesting the position. His statement should therefore not be interpreted as an official declaration of interest.

His comments have nevertheless introduced the possibility into public discussion, leaving football followers to watch whether he provides further clarification about his ambitions.

Until Baffoe makes a definite announcement, the question of whether he will seek the GFA presidency remains open.
