According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday, October 15, 2026, citing Le Parisien, Paris Saint-Germain are considering a €70 million offer for Barcelona defender Eric Garcia as manager Luis Enrique seeks to strengthen his defensive options ahead of the summer 2027 transfer window.
The PSG manager has reportedly identified the Spanish international as a potential signing because of his versatility and ability to play both as a centre-back and a right-back.
The 25-year-old has impressed Barcelona manager Hansi Flick this season, earning a regular place in the starting lineup through his consistent performances and tactical flexibility. His progress has reportedly affected Jules Koundé’s position, with the French defender losing his starting role at right-back.
Garcia, who previously played for Manchester City, has featured in eight of Barcelona’s ten matches across all competitions this season. His performances have further established him as a dependable member of Flick’s squad.
Luis Enrique is reportedly keen on bringing the defender to Paris as PSG seek additional cover for Marquinhos in central defence and Achraf Hakimi at right-back. A potential €70 million investment would represent a major move by the French champions as they prepare for the 2027 campaign.
However, securing Garcia’s departure from Barcelona could be challenging. The Spanish club recently extended his contract until 2031, demonstrating their commitment to keeping him for the long term.
His growing influence within the team is also reflected in his inclusion in Barcelona’s captaincy group, further complicating the possibility of a transfer.
Since returning to the Catalan club, Garcia has strengthened his position through his defensive reliability, versatility and ability to support the team’s build-up play.
Although PSG’s reported interest could develop into a major transfer story, the €70 million figure remains a proposed offer rather than a confirmed bid. Barcelona are expected to make retaining the defender a priority as they continue developing their squad under Flick.
The situation could attract increased attention as the summer 2027 transfer window approaches, particularly if PSG decide to turn their reported interest in the Spanish international into a formal bid.
