NFO 3-1 MCI: Players Responsible for Man City Disappointing Defeat

According to a report by Flashscore on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Manchester City suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest after producing a poor first-half performance that proved difficult to recover from.

Forest established a 2-0 lead through Cunha and Liam Delap before Rayan Cherki reduced the deficit in the 52nd minute. However, Delap scored again in the 73rd minute to complete his brace and secure all three points for the hosts. Several Manchester City players struggled to make an impact, with four particularly disappointing performers.

Marc Guehi

Guehi endured a difficult afternoon as Manchester City's defence struggled to deal with Forest's attacking threat. The defender was part of the backline that conceded twice in the opening 45 minutes. City failed to prevent Cunha from capitalising on a costly defensive error to score in the sixth minute before Delap doubled Forest's lead with an impressive individual effort in the 18th minute. Guehi was substituted at half-time, with Matheus Nunes taking his place after his disappointing first-half display.

Jeremy Doku

Doku failed to make a meaningful impact in attack against Nottingham Forest. The winger received the ball inside the penalty area in the eighth minute, but his attempt to score was blocked by a defender. He also failed to find a teammate with a pass into the box in the 14th minute. His most disappointing moment came in the 30th minute when an excellent low delivery created a promising opportunity, but he failed to control the ball properly. Forest's defenders cleared the danger without difficulty.

Enzo Fernandez

Fernandez missed an important opportunity to help Manchester City get back into the game during the first half. In the 24th minute, Marc Guehi delivered a dangerous cross into the penalty area, but the midfielder's header went narrowly over the crossbar. His corner deliveries in the ninth and 42nd minutes also failed to create a clear scoring opportunity, with Forest comfortably dealing with both situations. Although he remained involved after the break, he was unable to help City avoid defeat.

Erling Haaland

Haaland struggled to influence the game despite having a promising opportunity before half-time. In the 41st minute, the striker received an excellent pass inside the penalty area and attempted to find the back of the net, but a Forest defender blocked his effort. The Norwegian forward failed to make the desired impact as Manchester City struggled to break down the hosts' defence.
