According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 18, 2026, Leeds United and Manchester United shared the points in a 1-1 Premier League draw after Bryan Mbeumo put the visitors ahead before Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised shortly after the break.
Manchester United started confidently, while Leeds focused on possession and patient build-up play to create scoring opportunities. Both sides threatened during the first half, but goalkeepers Senne Lammens and James Trafford made important saves to keep the score level.
Leeds created early chances through Tarik Muharemovic and Nico Elvedi, whose headers tested United’s defence. Lammens produced an impressive save to deny Elvedi in the 27th minute, while Mbeumo narrowly missed an opportunity at the other end.
United eventually took the lead in the 35th minute when Youri Tielemans delivered a dangerous ball into the penalty area, allowing Mbeumo to find the bottom-left corner.
Leeds attempted to respond before half-time, with Jayden Bogle and Ao Tanaka looking to trouble the visitors. However, both goalkeepers remained alert as Manchester United went into the break with a 1-0 advantage.
Michael Carrick made a change at half-time, bringing on Noussair Mazraoui for Lisandro Martinez. Leeds returned with greater attacking intent and increased the pressure on United’s defence.
Their persistence paid off in the 51st minute when Anton Stach’s corner travelled through the penalty area before Calvert-Lewin finished into the bottom-right corner to restore parity.
Leeds continued pushing for a winner, with Stach, Noah Okafor and James Justin attempting to find a breakthrough, but none could produce another goal. Manchester United also threatened through Bruno Fernandes and Carlos Baleba but failed to convert their chances.
Both managers made late substitutions in an effort to influence the result, while Trafford produced further saves to frustrate United. Leeds were also left disappointed after their penalty appeal involving Lukas Nmecha was turned down.
Despite four minutes of added time, neither team managed to find a winning goal. Manchester United were left to settle for a point after losing their first-half advantage, while Leeds earned a draw through an improved second-half performance.
