EPL Table After Arsenal Won 1-0

According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Arsenal claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Hull City, with captain Martin Odegaard scoring the decisive second-half goal to finally break the visitors' resistance.

The Gunners controlled much of the match but struggled to make their numerous chances count before Odegaard found the back of the net in the 72nd minute.

Mikel Arteta’s men began the game strongly and enjoyed most of the possession, using patient passing and attacking movements to try to break down Hull’s well-organised defence. However, the visitors remained disciplined and made it difficult for Arsenal to create clear scoring opportunities.

Hull also managed to threaten at times. David Raya was forced into action in the 19th minute, making an important save to keep out Elliot Stroud’s effort. Arsenal responded through Declan Rice, whose attempt from outside the box narrowly missed the target in the 28th minute.

Rice came close to scoring again shortly before half-time after meeting a cross inside the penalty area, but Konstantinos Tzolakis produced an impressive reflex save to deny the midfielder.

Arsenal also appealed for a penalty when Kai Havertz went down inside the box following a challenge. The referee initially allowed play to continue before reviewing the incident with VAR, but the original decision stood after Havertz was ruled offside.

The hosts continued pushing for an opener after the interval, with Arteta bringing on Viktor Gyokeres and Mikel Merino in the 63rd minute to strengthen the attack.

Arsenal finally broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute when Noni Madueke forced Tzolakis into a fine save. Odegaard reacted quickly to the rebound and sent a low shot into the middle of the net to put the Gunners ahead.

Madueke later saw another attempt blocked inside the penalty area as Arsenal continued to create chances. Hull pushed for an equaliser, but the hosts held on to their advantage until the final whistle to secure all three points.
