According to a report by BBC Sport on Friday, November 6, 2026, Everton produced an impressive second-half comeback to defeat Coventry 3-1 in the Premier League, with Thierno Barry scoring twice before Kiernan Dewsbury Hall completed the victory.
The Toffees had to recover from a difficult start to the second half after Coventry took the lead, but they responded with three goals to secure all three points.
Neither team managed to score during the opening 45 minutes, although Everton created several opportunities. Harrison Armstrong came close to breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute when he reacted to a rebound inside the penalty area, but a Coventry defender cleared his effort before it crossed the goal line.
Coventry also threatened as the first half progressed, with Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Jack Rudoni testing Everton's defensive organisation. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was particularly important in the 44th minute, producing a save to deny Victor Torp from a long range free kick.
The visitors eventually moved ahead seven minutes after the restart. Yann Gboho reacted quickest to a loose ball inside Everton's penalty area before firing a low shot into the net to give Coventry a 1-0 advantage.
However, Everton responded almost immediately. In the 56th minute, Vitaliy Mykolenko delivered an inviting cross into the box, allowing Barry to rise and head the ball beyond Carl Rushworth to restore parity.
Barry completed the turnaround five minutes later, scoring from close range inside the six-yard box. The goal was reviewed by VAR because of a possible offside during the build-up, but referee Stuart Attwell allowed the decision to stand.
Everton strengthened their advantage in the 81st minute when Barry turned provider. The striker supplied a well timed pass to Dewsbury Hall, who calmly guided his finish into the bottom left corner to make it 3-1.
Coventry attempted to respond, but Everton remained organised defensively and protected their lead until the final whistle.
The result completed an impressive comeback for Everton, who showed their attacking quality and resilience after falling behind early in the second half.
