According to a report by London Evening Standard on Friday, November 6, 2026, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has been omitted from Thomas Tuchel's latest England squad despite undergoing medical assessments earlier this week.
The Three Lions manager has decided not to include the 24-year-old for the upcoming Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.
England's medical staff examined Palmer as Tuchel assessed whether the Chelsea attacker was fit to join the squad. However, the winger has been left out, despite Chelsea maintaining that he was available and ready to represent his country.
Palmer's absence comes after Tuchel previously voiced his frustration over the player's repeated withdrawals from international camps due to injuries. The England manager had warned that he was missing too many opportunities to play for his country.
Meanwhile, Tuchel has made several notable additions to his latest selection. Jobe Bellingham has earned his first senior England call-up and will join his older brother Jude in the national team. Fulham youngster Josh King has also received his maiden invitation, alongside Liverpool teenager Rio Ngumoha.
Djed Spence and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been included, while Arsenal winger Noni Madueke has missed out. Declan Rice and Ben White have returned to the squad after recovering from their respective injury problems.
Manchester City's Phil Foden and Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo have again been overlooked. Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka are also unavailable because of injuries.
Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele has retained his place despite Dean Henderson returning to action for Crystal Palace. Steele, King and Jobe Bellingham are the only uncapped players in the squad.
Harry Kane has also been selected following his recent contract extension with Bayern Munich. The England captain could make history when his country face Croatia at Wembley next Thursday.
Kane needs just one more appearance to become England's most-capped men's international player, overtaking Peter Shilton's record of 125 appearances.
