According to a report by BBC Sport on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Lamine Yamal produced an impressive performance as Barcelona came from behind to defeat Galatasaray 4-1 in their Champions League clash.
The young forward played a key role in Barcelona’s second half comeback, providing two assists to help his team secure a convincing victory after a difficult start.
Barcelona struggled to control the game in the first half after Alexey Batrakov gave Galatasaray the lead in the 28th minute with a deflected shot from outside the penalty area. However, Joao Cancelo equalised for Barcelona in the 43rd minute after reacting quickly to a loose ball inside the box.
Both teams went into the break level, but Barcelona returned for the second half with greater attacking intent, with Yamal playing a major role in their improved performance.
In the 50th minute, Yamal delivered an excellent cross into the penalty area, allowing Fermin Lopez to score with a close range header and give Barcelona the lead.
The Spanish forward provided another assist just three minutes later. His well timed pass set up Anthony Gordon, who finished brilliantly into the bottom-right corner to extend Barcelona’s advantage to 3-1.
Yamal’s creativity and passing proved difficult for Galatasaray to handle as Barcelona continued to create scoring opportunities. The 19-year-old also attempted to get on the scoresheet in the 52nd minute but sent his effort over the crossbar.
Despite missing that opportunity, he remained active in Barcelona’s attack and helped his teammates maintain pressure on the opposition defence.
Barcelona sealed the victory in the 66th minute when Karim Adeyemi finished Gabriel Jesus’ pass with a powerful shot into the bottom right corner.
Although Yamal did not score, his two assists and overall attacking contribution made him one of the standout players in the match. His performance helped Barcelona recover from their early setback and turn the contest into a comfortable 4-1 victory over Galatasaray.
