According to a report by FootballTransfers on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Liverpool have emerged as a suitable destination for Brentford defender El Hadji Malick Diouf, with Chelsea also reportedly interested in securing the services of the Senegal international.
Both Premier League clubs have contacted the player's representatives to express their interest in the 21-year-old, according to Senegalese outlet DN Sports.
Diouf joined Brentford from West Ham during the summer in a €40 million deal after impressing despite the Hammers' relegation from the Premier League.
The left-sided defender registered five assists in 32 appearances for West Ham during his first season in English football, attracting attention for his attacking ability, athleticism and skill in carrying the ball forward.
However, the Senegalese youngster has struggled to earn regular playing time since moving to Brentford. He has started only one Premier League match and managed just 155 minutes of league action under manager Keith Andrews.
Despite his limited involvement, his potential has reportedly attracted attention from two of England's biggest clubs.
Data from FootballTransfers' partner SciSports suggests that Liverpool would be the most suitable destination for Diouf, with the club receiving a suitability rating of 78 out of 100. Chelsea, meanwhile, recorded a score of 72.
Liverpool's interest could be linked to uncertainty surrounding their left-back position. Milos Kerkez is currently the first-choice option at Anfield, although the Hungarian international endured a difficult first season after joining the club.
Kostas Tsimikas is also facing an uncertain future, with his contract scheduled to expire at the end of the current season.
Chelsea, on the other hand, already have Jorrel Hato and summer signing Pep Chavarria competing for opportunities at left-back. Their presence could make it more difficult for Diouf to secure regular playing time at Stamford Bridge.
However, it remains unclear whether Brentford would be willing to sell the defender, particularly after spending heavily to bring him to the club only last summer.
