Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe shared a memorable moment with a young supporter after the child was accidentally struck by a wayward attempt from midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni during the club’s 3-0 victory over Racing Santander. According to a report by Madrid Universal on Monday, November 2, 2026, the incident occurred during Sunday’s La Liga meeting, but the Spanish giants made efforts to ensure the youngster was comfortable after the match.
The incident happened shortly after the second half began, when Tchouameni attempted to shoot towards goal. His effort missed the target and travelled into the stands, where it hit a young boy in the face. The unexpected impact left the child upset and in tears, prompting concern among those around him.
After the final whistle, Real Madrid arranged for the boy and his father to meet members of the team inside the stadium. Tchouameni personally approached the young supporter to apologise for what had happened. The French midfielder also presented him with a signed shirt as a gesture of goodwill.
Mbappe subsequently stopped when he noticed the child, taking a moment to ask whether he was feeling alright. The France international then lightened the atmosphere by joking about his teammate’s shooting ability, playfully suggesting that Tchouameni was responsible for the unfortunate incident because he did not know how to shoot properly.
The exchange helped turn an upsetting experience into a more positive memory for the youngster. He appeared happier during the interaction, shaking hands with Mbappe and sharing a high five with the Real Madrid forward.
The child’s father later praised the club for its response, describing the incident as a brief fright rather than something more serious. Speaking to DAZN in comments reported by RMC Sport, he expressed gratitude for the attention shown to his family and said the gesture from Real Madrid was greatly appreciated.
Away from the touching moment, Mbappe once again played a major role in Madrid’s victory. The striker opened the scoring in the 11th minute, converting a penalty to give his team an early advantage. Jude Bellingham and Yan Diomande subsequently found the net before the interval, completing a comfortable 3-0 result.
The victory extended Real Madrid’s winning streak to six matches across all competitions. However, they remain third in the La Liga standings, three points behind leaders Barcelona.
Mbappe’s penalty also increased his season tally to 15 goals in 14 appearances, with 12 of those strikes coming in the league. The goal was additionally his 101st since joining Real Madrid. His recent performances have been particularly productive, with six goals and one assist recorded across five matches since the international break.
Despite his impressive output, the number of minutes he has played could become a concern for manager Jose Mourinho. Before the Racing Santander fixture, Mbappe had featured for 1,161 minutes out of a possible 1,170, making him Europe's most heavily used outfield player across the leading five domestic leagues, according to the report.
Real Madrid are scheduled to face AEK Athens in the Champions League on Wednesday before travelling to Mestalla for Saturday’s league encounter with Valencia. Mourinho’s team selection will attract attention, particularly whether he decides to manage Mbappe’s workload by giving the forward a rest during the European fixture.
