According to a report by Fabrizio Romano on Sunday, October 18, 2026, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised his team’s recent form, insisting that the club is in a strong position and remains ambitious about achieving its goals.

Arteta made the remarks after Arsenal secured a 1-0 Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Noni Madueke scored the winning goal in the 80th minute to help the Gunners claim all three points from a difficult away fixture.

The Spanish manager highlighted Arsenal’s recent results, revealing that the team had won 10 of its previous 11 matches. He also referred to the challenges surrounding the season, including the period following the World Cup.

"Like I said, we have won 10 out of 11 games and after the World Cup and all that," Arteta said.

He believes the team’s impressive run demonstrates that Arsenal are progressing well, although he stressed that the club’s ambitions remain a major priority.

"I think that shows we are in a very good position and we are ambitious," he added.

Arsenal’s narrow victory over Nottingham Forest reflected the determination Arteta highlighted. The visitors struggled to create clear-cut chances against a disciplined Forest defence, but Madueke’s introduction at half-time provided an additional attacking threat.

The winger eventually broke the deadlock with a shot that deflected off Forest defender Jair Cunha before beating goalkeeper Matz Sels. Arsenal then defended their advantage to secure their third consecutive victory across all competitions.

The result demonstrated the Gunners’ ability to collect important points even when their attacking performance is not at its best. Despite facing difficulties against Forest, Arteta’s side found a decisive moment late in the match to claim victory.

Arteta’s comments reflect his confidence in the team’s recent progress and his determination to maintain high standards. With domestic and European competitions continuing, Arsenal will need to sustain their consistency to achieve their targets for the season.
