According to a report by BBC Sports on Saturday, October 17, 2026, Chelsea winger Pedro Neto scored twice to help the Blues secure a 2-0 victory over Everton in their Premier League clash at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Portuguese international proved decisive for Xabi Alonso’s side, scoring in the second half to secure all three points in an important away fixture.
Chelsea struggled to break down Everton’s organised defence during the opening half, with the hosts limiting the visitors’ clear goalscoring opportunities despite Chelsea enjoying periods of possession.
However, the game changed just 44 seconds after the restart when Neto opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. The goal followed an attacking move involving Morgan Rogers and Jorrel Hato, whose delivery into the penalty area created the opportunity for the winger to put Chelsea ahead.
Everton responded by increasing their attacking pressure as they searched for an equaliser, but Chelsea remained disciplined at the back while looking for opportunities to extend their advantage.
Neto eventually doubled Chelsea’s lead in the 88th minute, completing his brace and putting the result beyond Everton’s reach. The second goal came after the hosts failed to clear Jordan Henderson’s free kick effectively, allowing the Portuguese winger to capitalise and find the back of the net.
Despite 11 minutes of added time, Everton could not find a breakthrough as Chelsea maintained their two-goal advantage until the final whistle.
Neto’s performance was particularly important for Chelsea after their difficulties in the first half. His movement, awareness and composure in front of goal helped the visitors overcome Everton’s defensive resistance.
The two-goal display also strengthened Neto’s position in Chelsea’s attacking plans as competition for starting places continues.
The victory provides Chelsea with an important boost ahead of their upcoming fixtures, while Neto’s decisive contribution made him the standout performer of the encounter.
