Leeds to make decisive decision regarding Calvert-Lewin's future amid interest from Man United

According to a report by Metro on Friday, October 30, 2026, Leeds United are preparing to offer Dominic Calvert-Lewin a new contract amid reported interest from Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window.

The Elland Road club want to secure the striker's long-term future following reports that Manchester United are considering a move for the England international.

The Athletic recently reported that United's recruitment team had been assessing the possibility of signing a centre-forward in January, with Calvert-Lewin among the players under consideration.

However, a move to Old Trafford is considered unlikely, as Leeds are determined to retain a striker who has become an important member of Daniel Farke's squad.

Calvert-Lewin joined Leeds on a free transfer from Everton in the summer of 2025 and has enjoyed an impressive spell at the club.

The 29-year-old has scored 20 goals in 49 appearances for Leeds, including 14 Premier League goals last season. He has also made a positive start to the current campaign, scoring four times in eight league matches.

The striker also found the net when Leeds played out a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Elland Road on October 18.

His current contract runs until 2028, meaning Leeds are under no immediate pressure to sell him. The club are also reportedly unwilling to consider offers for the forward.

Farke has previously praised Calvert-Lewin's contribution, insisting that Leeds always believed in his ability despite other clubs overlooking him.

"No one else wanted him, but we always believed in him and believed he would deliver," the Leeds manager said.

Meanwhile, Manchester United's interest comes as manager Michael Carrick looks to strengthen his attacking options following Benjamin Sesko's injury.

The Slovenian striker has been sidelined since United's Carabao Cup defeat to Brighton on September 16 and is not expected to return until at least January.

United have consequently relied on Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha in central attacking positions, while Joshua Zirkzee has had limited playing time.

Leeds' reported plan to offer Calvert-Lewin a new contract could make it even more difficult for Manchester United to secure his services when the January transfer window opens.
