According to a report by Football London on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Arsenal are considering a January move for Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi as doubts continue over Viktor Gyokeres’ long-term future at the Emirates Stadium.
The Premier League champions have reportedly identified the 22 year old Germany Under 21 international as a potential addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad as they assess their attacking options ahead of the second half of the season.
Tresoldi has enjoyed an impressive campaign, scoring nine goals in 12 appearances across all competitions, including four goals in two Champions League matches. His performances have attracted Arsenal’s attention, with the striker continuing to build his reputation through his consistent displays in front of goal.
The German forward scored against Aston Villa in September before finding the net in Club Brugge’s thrilling 4-3 Champions League victory over Inter Milan. His recent performances have further increased interest in his services as several European clubs monitor his progress.
Arsenal’s reported interest comes amid speculation that Gyokeres could consider leaving the club during the January transfer window after struggling to secure regular playing time under Arteta. The Sweden international’s difficulties over the past year have raised questions about his future, potentially creating an opportunity for the Gunners to strengthen their forward line.
However, Arsenal could face competition for Tresoldi’s signature, with Club Brugge reportedly rejecting a £30 million offer from Roma during the summer. The Belgian club are now believed to value the striker at approximately £42 million.
Arsenal’s existing relationship with Club Brugge could help negotiations, following their £35 million signing of winger Christos Tzolis from the Belgian side during the summer transfer window.
Nevertheless, AC Milan are also reportedly interested in Tresoldi, and his childhood support for the Italian club could give them an advantage in the race for his signature.
Tresoldi also previously came close to moving to Liverpool because of his family’s circumstances. His father, Emanuele, explained that his wife’s work in civil aviation almost took the family to Merseyside before they eventually relocated to Hanover, Germany, where the striker began developing his career with Hannover 96.
"It all happened by chance. We have travelled a lot for my wife's job, who deals with civil aviation. At one point it seemed like we had to move to Liverpool.
"Instead, we had to go to the headquarters in Hanover, where Nicolo showed that he could be a footballer."
