Dwayne Wright on Chiefs fandom enhancing National Anthem performance

This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with retired running back and NFL Players Choir member Dwayne Wright.

In his interview with Easton Jr., Wright discussed his participation in 'The NFL Players Choir' and their recent National Anthem performance at Arrowhead Stadium ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs' Week 2 game this season. He said growing up as a Chiefs fan made the moment even more special.

"There were a couple of players that I know of with training and dealing with student-athletes throughout my career, but I was drafted in 2007, so I was done in 2012," said Wright. "But Cris Collinsworth was one person who we all recognized-a person that I looked up to playing, and we were trying to get him at some of our games in college and in the NFL."

Wright expressed his appreciation on social media, especially since he grew up a Chiefs fan.

"I was a Chiefs fan growing up, so Christian Okoye and all of these big-time players," said Wright. "So for me, it was an experience of a lifetime, and playing and performing are two different things. But when you prepare like we prepare, it makes it feel all even."
