Chelsea FC have reportedly made strides to sign Moroccan international right-winger Gessime Yassine (20) from BlueCo-owned sister club RC Strasbourg, according to Christophe Lollichon. Speaking to Ouest-France, Chelsea’s former goalkeeping coach understands that the Premier League side has ‘practically’ signed Yassine. The winger joined Strasbourg from Ligue 2 side Dunkerque earlier this year in a €7m deal.

Yassine logged two goals and three assists in 25 outings for the Alsatians. In August, the skilled winger notably put in a Man of the Match performance against Dino Toppmöller’s RC Lens. Lollichon, who joined Dunkerque as goalkeeping coach in 2023, brought Yassine up in the interview while talking about the Ligue 2 side’s ability to unearth young talents.

“We’re meticulous about discovering talent and giving them the opportunity to express themselves. We don’t know how far they’ll go“, Lollichon says. “Today, Gessime Yassine plays for Strasbourg but he’s practically at Chelsea, Enzo Bardeli is at Levante, Alec Georgen, a brilliant player who came through PSG, is at Lorient.” Should he join Chelsea, Yassine would be the latest Strasbourg player to join BlueCo’s Premier League side after previous deals for Valentin Barco, Mamadou Sarr or Emmanuel Emegha.
