Richie Saunders, Grizzlies Signing Two-Way Contract

The Memphis Grizzlies are signing 2026 second-round pick Richie Saunders to a two-way contract. Saunders had gone unsigned to open the season, as he's currently recovering from a torn ACL suffered in mid-February of his final season at BYU.

Despite the knee injury, Memphis drafted Saunders with the 32nd pick of the 2026 NBA Draft. The Grizzlies drafted the 6-foot-5 knowing he would miss most, if not all, of the 2026-27 NBA season.

Saunders was a rotation player at BYU for four seasons, and a starter for the final two season. As a senior, he averaged 18 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Saunders shot 48.9% overall, including 37.6% on 6.8 three-point attempts per game.
