Fantasy Football: 10 best waiver-wire targets for Week 7

Taking a look at the top waiver-wire targets for Week 7 in fantasy football.

With six weeks of the 2026 NFL season in the books, fantasy football managers are approaching an important point in the season.

Injuries, emerging rookies and four teams on bye have created opportunities for managers to improve their rosters heading into Week 7.

Germie Bernard and Omar Cooper Jr. headline this week's waiver-wire targets after impressive performances in Week 6, while several running backs and quarterbacks offer potential depth for managers navigating difficult lineup decisions.

Here are 10 players to consider adding before Week 7.

1. Germie Bernard, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers (50% rostered)

Bernard is arguably the top wide receiver available on the waiver wire after delivering a breakout performance against Tampa Bay. The rookie caught 11 of 12 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown in Pittsburgh's 26-19 overtime victory, including the game-winning score. With Michael Pittman Jr. and Roman Wilson on injured reserve, Bernard has an opportunity to maintain a significant role in the Steelers' passing attack. He's a priority addition in PPR leagues.

2. Omar Cooper Jr., WR, New York Jets (4% rostered)

Cooper made an immediate impact in his return from an ankle injury, catching six of seven targets for 103 yards and a touchdown against New England. The rookie's performance included a 48-yard touchdown reception, demonstrating the big-play potential he brings to New York's offense. With Adonai Mitchell dealing with a finger injury, Cooper could have an opportunity to establish himself as the Jets' second receiving option. He's a strong addition for managers seeking upside, though it would be unrealistic to expect this kind of production every week with Garrett Wilson still around.

3. Keenan Allen, WR, Indianapolis Colts (47% rostered)

Allen delivered his best statistical performance of the season against Tennessee, finishing with eight receptions for 82 yards on 11 targets. The veteran has received at least nine targets in three consecutive games, giving him a reliable role in Indianapolis' passing attack. His fantasy value is particularly appealing in PPR formats, although the eventual return of tight end Tyler Warren could impact his target share moving forward.

4. Jaylin Noel, WR, Houston Texans (7% rostered)

Noel broke out against Jacksonville, recording four receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown in Houston's 34-31 victory. The second-year receiver averaged 26.8 yards per catch, highlighting his ability to produce explosive plays. Although the Texans have several receivers competing for targets, Noel has now delivered three consecutive games with double-digit PPR fantasy production. His ceiling may be capped with the arrival of Marvin Harrison Jr., but he's a talented wideout who could continue to carve out a role.

5. Geno Smith, QB, New York Jets (7% rostered)

Smith is an option for managers needing a quarterback streamer in Week 7. He completed 20 of 30 passes for 252 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Jets' loss to New England. New York will face Miami next, providing Smith with an opportunity to rebound against a struggling opponent. While his inconsistency makes him difficult to trust as a long-term starter, he is worth considering in two-quarterback leagues and as a short-term replacement.

6. Kendre Miller, RB, New Orleans Saints (34% rostered)

Miller's fantasy outlook received a boost after he handled 20 carries for 70 yards and added two receptions for no additional yardage against the Giants. His 22 total touches demonstrated that New Orleans is willing to give him a substantial workload. However, Alvin Kamara remains part of the backfield rotation, limiting Miller's touchdown upside. He's still worth adding as a potential flex option, particularly for managers who need running back depth.

7. Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB, New York Giants (4% rostered)

Tracy is worth a speculative addition following a two-touchdown performance against New Orleans. He recorded six carries for 18 yards and added two receptions for 27 yards, scoring once on the ground and once through the air. Although the touchdowns inflated his fantasy production, Tracy's involvement in both the rushing and passing games gives him some potential value. His workload remains uncertain, making him a better bench stash than an immediate starting option.

8. J.J. McCarthy, QB, New York Giants (1% rostered)

McCarthy could become a popular waiver-wire target if he earns the starting job in New York. The quarterback entered Sunday's game against New Orleans in relief of Jameis Winston and threw for 243 yards and a touchdown while adding 26 rushing yards in just 11 minutes of play in the fourth quarter. His performance helped spark a fourth-quarter comeback attempt, showcasing his potential as a fantasy option. However, managers should monitor the Giants' quarterback decision before using a waiver claim on him as anything more than a speculative stash.

9. T.J. Hockenson, TE, Minnesota Vikings (31% rostered)

Hockenson is a potential tight end addition as Minnesota prepares to return from its Week 6 bye. The veteran recorded 13 receptions for 119 yards against Miami in Week 4, demonstrating the reception volume that makes him appealing in PPR formats. His availability depends on clearing concussion protocol after leaving Minnesota's Week 5 game early. If cleared to play, Hockenson could offer a useful option at a position where consistent production is difficult to find.

Cleveland's defense is an appealing streaming option after consecutive double-digit fantasy performances against the Jets and Ravens. The Browns have recorded at least three sacks in five consecutive games, providing a consistent source of fantasy production. Their Week 7 matchup against Tennessee is particularly attractive, as the Titans have struggled to protect the quarterback. Managers looking to stream a defense should consider Cleveland as one of the stronger available options.
