The Lilywhites acted proactively in the transfer market to complete a full squad rebuild in a single window, marking a clear departure from the way the club operated under Daniel Levy’s stewardship.
However, the first couple of months of the season have proven that Tottenham’s issues are not an easy fix, and that the squad still needs more reinforcements in order to close the gap with the top sides in the league.
It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Spurs have already started planning for the January window, and it has now emerged that their head coach has made a key demand.
Over the last couple of months, it has been widely reported that Piero Ausilio is the favourite to be appointed as Tottenham’s next sporting director after parting ways with Inter Milan at the end of the recent summer window.
A new report in Mundo Deportivo has now claimed that the Lilywhites’ interest in Ausilio is being driven by De Zerbi.
The report claims that the Tottenham head coach has personally asked the North London club’s leadership to bring his compatriot through the door.
Part of the reason for that is so that Ausilio could help the club find a suitable number nine to add to their squad.
The report suggests that the striker Tottenham look to bring in could be Endrick, who has been frustrated with his lack of game time at Real Madrid this season.
Spurs’ interest in Endrick goes back to the January 2026 window, and it seemed like the Lilywhites may finally have the opportunity to get their hands on the Brazilian a year later.
It was reported earlier this month that Real Madrid had decided to loan out Endrick in January so that the young forward could get some competitive action under his belt.
However, addressing the speculation over the forward last week, Jose Mourinho ruled out the possibility of loaning out the Tottenham target.
According to a recent update from TEAMtalk, Vangelis Pavlidis, Roberto Fernandez, Igor Matanovic and Jean-Philippe Mateta are the other strikers on Spurs’ radar.
