Jack Moylan struck for the third time in the space of five days to open the scoring for Cardiff City in their 2-2 draw away to second place Middlesbrough in the Riverside Stadium.
The Republic of Ireland attacker hit Cardiff's two opening goals in Tuesday's 5-1 win over Watford and he fired the visitors in front midway through the first half.
Picking up the ball from Ollie Tanner outside the box, he outfoxed Neto Borges with a quick stepover and drilled a low right-footed shot past the keeper at the near post.
The impressive Tanner doubled their lead on the brink of half-time, cutting inside from the right and curling beautiful shot into the far corner.
However, Middlesbrough pegged them back after the interval, striking twice within three minutes around the hour mark.
First, Tommy Conway met Callum Brittain's low cut-back from the right and fired home to halve the deficit. Soon after, the league's top scorer Will Lankshear hit his 11th goal of the season in all competitions to tie it up.
Jake Cooper's scrambled equaliser rescued a point for Millwall as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Lincoln.
The Imps looked on course to put Wednesday’s 6-0 home thrashing against West Ham behind them in style when goals from Andrei Coubis and Rob Street put them in a strong position after 33 minutes at The Den.
But the Lions were able to prevent back-to-back home defeats with a much-improved second-half performance, with the visitors hanging on for a share of the spoils after having Deji Elerewe sent off soon after Cooper’s leveller.
Watford lifted the pressure on head coach Alessio Dionisi and quelled their supporters' rebellion against owner Gino Pozzo with a deserved 2-0 win against sluggish Charlton.
After shipping nine goals in calamitous defeats by Burnley and Cardiff, Dionisi’s side had slumped into the bottom three and the fans had turned their anger on Pozzo.
But goals from Luca Kjerrumgaard and substitute Jordan Zemura – the Zimbabwe defender’s first for the club – extended Charlton’s worrying run to eight games without a win.
