Thousands of Kenyan football fans got an opportunity to see the English Premier League trophy up close as Guinness staged matchday events in Nairobi and Kisumu, combining live football screenings, music and fan engagements.

The events, held on Friday, October 16, in Kisumu and Sunday, October 18, in Nairobi, brought supporters together to watch live matches and take photographs with one of football’s most coveted prizes.

The Kisumu activations took place at Dondez and Berlin Lounge, while the Nairobi event drew fans to a similar football-themed experience featuring large screens and high-quality audio for live Premier League action.

The events also brought together supporters of Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City, turning the venues into meeting points for fan clubs to celebrate their teams and share their passion for the game.

Fans followed a weekend of competitive football, with Chelsea beating Everton 2-0 and Liverpool edging Brentford 2-1.

Manchester City also claimed a 3-2 victory against Ipswich, while Arsenal and Fulham recorded 1-0 wins against Nottingham Forest and Hull, respectively.

Aston Villa also beat Newcastle 1-0.

Beyond the matches, the activations featured performances by Kenyan musicians Khaligraph Jones and Wyre, alongside DJs Joe Mfalme and Mista C, extending the celebrations beyond the final whistle.

The events form part of Guinness’ efforts to use its partnership with the Premier League to create consumer experiences around football, which commands a strong following in Kenya.

"We are thrilled to bring the Premier League trophy back to Kenya, offering even more fans the opportunity to get extra close to football’s ultimate prize. As the Official Beer of the Premier League, our partnership allows us to create these once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our consumers through Guinness Matchday," Guinness Brand Manager Joy Murugi said.

"This trophy tour sets the tone for an exciting season ahead, and we look forward to bringing Kenyan fans even more exciting Guinness Matchday experiences throughout the rest of the Premier League season.”

Additionally, the company said it would continue to roll out Guinness Matchday experiences during the Premier League season, targeting football supporters with live screenings and entertainment.
