FKF Premier League newcomers 3K FC have collected Ksh 1,283,380 in ticket revenue from their Murima Derby against Murang’a Seal, setting a new record for the club as interest in their maiden top-flight campaign continues to grow.
The club confirmed the figures after Sunday's 2-1 victory at Embu Stadium, with the latest collection exceeding the Ksh 487,000 generated during their first home league match against Mara Sugar FC by Ksh 796,380.
The increase marks a significant rise in matchday revenue for the Embu-based side.
Their latest earnings were more than double the amount collected in their previous home fixture, underlining the financial significance of the derby against their neighbours.
The occasion also delivered a landmark result on the pitch, as Nicodemus Omasete's side claimed their first win in the top division.
Glen Yenji gave 3K FC the lead in the 24th minute before Oscar Juma, formerly of Shabana FC, added a second goal 10 minutes later. Murang’a Seal reduced the deficit through Michael Owen in first-half stoppage time, but the hosts held on to secure victory.
In a statement shared on their official platforms, 3K FC thanked the supporters who turned up for the encounter and confirmed the total collected from ticket sales.
The victory also maintained the club's unbeaten start to the season. They climbed to second place in the standings with five points, four behind defending champions Gor Mahia.
Having made the step up to the top flight this season, 3K FC will be encouraged by both their early results and the growing financial returns from home matches as they seek to establish themselves in the league.
