Premier League: Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea to Play Today

The English Premier League returns to action on Saturday, October 17, 2026, with five exciting fixtures scheduled for later today as teams seek crucial points in the race for the title and improved positions in the standings.

Everton will open the day’s programme against Chelsea at 2:30 p.m. Chelsea, currently sixth with 10 points from six matches, will be looking to climb the table. Everton, who occupy fifth place with the same number of points, will also be determined to strengthen their position with a positive result.

At 5:00 p.m., Brentford will host Liverpool in a fixture that could have significant implications for both sides. Brentford sit fourth with 10 points, while Liverpool are ninth with nine points. Liverpool will be eager to improve their league position, but Brentford’s promising start makes the encounter a challenging test.

Fulham will take on Hull at the same time in another important contest. Hull have collected nine points from six matches and currently sit eighth, while Fulham are struggling near the bottom of the table in 20th place with just two points. The hosts will be under pressure to secure a much-needed result.

League leaders Manchester City will welcome Ipswich at 5:00 p.m. City have won all six of their opening matches, collecting 18 points and scoring 16 goals while conceding five. Ipswich, sitting tenth with nine points, face a difficult assignment against the early-season leaders.

The day’s final fixture will see Newcastle United host Aston Villa at 7:30 p.m. Newcastle have eight points, compared with Villa’s five, setting up an intriguing evening encounter.

With points at stake across the table, Saturday promises an important day for several Premier League clubs.
