A commanding performance from Barça! Ricard Ares’ side cruised past Club Patí Voltregà 5-0 in the Lliga Catalana semi-finals to book their place in Sunday's final against Calafell. Captain Ignacio Alabart stole the show with a hat-trick and an assist, while Martí Casas and Nico Ojeda completed the scoring.
Barça dominated from the outset, although Xavi Barroso saw an early penalty saved by Estrada. The breakthrough came in the eighth minute when Llorca set up Alabart to finish clinically on the counterattack.
The captain doubled the lead with a superb individual effort from behind the goal before completing his hat-trick six minutes later. Barça's defensive solidity and clinical finishing had effectively settled the contest before half-time.
The second half brought more of the same. Alabart turned provider for Martí Casas to make it 4-0, before Nico Ojeda converted an Aragonès pass for the fifth (37').
Voltregà had late opportunities from direct free hits, but Carles Grau and Arnau Martínez both made important saves. Casas also missed a direct free hit for Barça, leaving the final score at 5-0.
Barça now face Calafell in the Lliga Catalana final, this Sunday 18 October at 8pm CEST in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda.
