The Premier League's 11 best-paid players - 3 play for Manchester City

Some Premier League players earn a ridiculous amount of money per week.

Footballers nowadays earn astronomical amounts of money, with some of the figures enough to make ordinary people feel physically sick. While most of us would be delighted to earn £100,000 a year, some Premier League stars take home several times that amount every single week. Of course, the Premier League is widely regarded as the best football league in the world, and it involves an enormous amount of money.

Clubs regularly spend tens of millions of pounds signing new players, with some transfers costing well over £100million. And that is before you even start looking at the wages these footballers receive.

However, all that money has also caused problems for certain clubs, particularly Manchester City. In September 2026, an independent commission found City guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League's financial rules over a nine-season period.

The club has appealed the decision, insisting it is innocent, while the question of potential punishments remains unresolved. So, out of curiosity, the Express decided to look at the 11 highest-paid players in the Premier League during the 2026/27 season to see just how many of them play for Manchester City.

The figures are based on estimated basic salaries published by Capology and do not include bonuses or sponsorship deals.
