Erling Haaland praised Nicolas Jackson after Manchester City were beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Jackson scored twice for the Villans, opening the scoring in the sixth minute before adding his second in the 60th minute. Haaland briefly restored parity for the visitors with his goal in the 52nd minute, but Aston Villa held on for victory.

“Jackson was incredible,” Haaland said after the match.

The defeat was the first setback of the current Premier League campaign for Enzo Maresca’s team. They remain top of the table, although Arsenal have now moved level with them on 21 points.
