AS Monaco will have Lamine Camara available for Sunday’s Ligue 1 trip to Lorient, with head coach Filipe Luis confirming the midfielder has no serious injury.
The 22-year-old Senegal international was substituted before the end of Thursday’s 2-1 Conference League victory over CSKA Sofia, raising concerns about his fitness. However, Luis confirmed at his news conference on Saturday that Camara would be able to play at Stade Yves-Allainmat.
His availability provides Monaco with an immediate boost for the seventh matchday of the Ligue 1 season, as the club prepare to face FC Lorient.
Camara has attracted interest from Chelsea, who pursued him last summer, and could again become a major focus of the winter transfer window. Luis is keen to retain the midfielder, however, and is relying on his continued development and distinctive qualities during the remainder of the season.
Camara is currently valued at €55m and remains under contract with Monaco until 30 June 2029. The midfielder, who was born in Diouloulou, earns €1,380,000 (£897,000,000 CFA francs) a year in France.
Monaco’s league match against Lorient is their next fixture in the French championship.
