Former Lokomotiv Moscow and Russia manager Yuri Semin has spoken out against Manchester City being stripped of trophies if the club is punished for alleged financial fair play breaches.
Manchester City were found guilty of breaching 114 of 115 financial fair play charges. The club could face the removal of trophies and points, as well as a substantial fine.
Most media reports had previously suggested that stripping Manchester City of their titles was not being considered. The case is more likely to end with a financial penalty and suspensions for some club executives.
The issue was highlighted during Manchester City’s most recent match against Liverpool, when supporters of the Reds repeatedly shouted “Cheats” whenever City players touched the ball.
