Tottenham Hotspur are one of several Premier League clubs watching a young striker who is excelling in La Liga and for his national side.
It is clear from the first eight league games of the season that Spurs’ biggest weakness is a lack of a reliable striker who can find the back of the net with regularity.
That is expected to be Tottenham’s priority to address in January, with the Lilywhites reportedly keeping an eye on several centre-forwards across Europe.
Vangelis Pavlidis, Roberto Fernandez, Igor Matanovic and Jean-Philippe Mateta are thought to be part of Spurs’ shortlist, and a new report claims that a 22-year-old has now been added to the list.
According to TEAMtalk, Spurs are keeping an eye on the progress of Real Sociedad striker Orri Oskarsson, who has developed impressively since joining the La Liga club from Danish giants FC Copenhagen in 2024.
The 1.86-meter target man is said to have caught the attention of many scouts from England, with Tottenham, Newcastle, Sunderland and Brentford all checking on his progress lately.
However, the club showing the most intense interest in Oskarsson ahead of the January window are Everton, who are desperate to add a new number nine to their squad after failing to get deals for Florian Balogun and Richarlison over the line in the dying stages of the summer window.
The Toffees are said to be paying ‘particularly close attention’ to the Icelandic international, whose stock continues to rise ahead of the January window.
TEAMtalk say that the 22-year-old’s physical presence, composure in front of goal and his technical quality have made him an ‘appealing prospect’ to England clubs who are looking for a target man.
Oskarsson scored nine goals in LaLiga and helped Sociedad lift the Copa del Rey last season, and he has followed that up with three goals in eight games so far this term.
However, what has put the centre-forward in the limelight is his outstanding displays in international football, with the youngster managing 12 goals in 22 appearances for Iceland, including five goals in six matches this season.
