Manchester United Coach Officially Announces Departure in Social Media Statement

According to a report by Manchesterevening News on Tuesday October 27, 2026, Manchester United recruitment coach Connor Tagoe has officially confirmed his departure after six years at Old Trafford, bringing his association with the Premier League club to an end through an emotional statement.

Tagoe announced the development on LinkedIn, reflecting on his time at United and expressing gratitude to colleagues he worked alongside. He also looked forward to the next chapter of his professional journey.

“Big thanks to Manchester United for the last 6 years. My time has come to an end, it’s been a top experience,” Tagoe wrote, acknowledging his memorable experience with the club.

He continued: “Shared with some top people, and I’m grateful for every moment. Looking forward to the next part of my journey.” His message confirmed the end of his United spell.

Tagoe joined Manchester United in September 2020, balancing recruitment and coaching responsibilities while managing his football development businesses. His departure marks the conclusion of six years working within the club’s structure.

He also founded Vision Football Development Academy and has worked with prominent footballers, including Chelsea star Cole Palmer and former Nigeria international Victor Moses, strengthening his experience in player development.

Although Tagoe’s LinkedIn employment history reportedly still lists Manchester United as his current workplace, his farewell statement indicates that his time at the club has officially concluded.

His departure arrives during a turbulent period for United, with head coach Michael Carrick facing mounting pressure following a disappointing start to the current campaign and several damaging results.

Carrick previously enjoyed considerable success after replacing Ruben Amorim in January, guiding United from seventh to third in the Premier League and helping the club secure Champions League qualification.

However, United’s performances have deteriorated significantly this season. The team has recorded just two victories from its opening 12 matches, intensifying criticism after defeats against Como and Bournemouth.

Despite speculation surrounding Carrick’s future, United have reportedly decided against immediately dismissing him, allowing the manager another opportunity when his side faces Chelsea in their upcoming fixture.

Meanwhile, club officials have reportedly considered potential replacements, with Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann emerging as possible candidates. Nevertheless, no evidence currently connects Tagoe’s departure with Carrick’s uncertain managerial situation.
