Victor Osimhen scored against his former club as Galatasaray secured their first win of the 2026/27 Champions League phase with a 4-2 comeback victory over Lille on Wednesday.
The Turkish champions took the lead after only two minutes when Yunus Akgun finished to give Galatasaray an ideal start.
Lille responded through Soriba Diaoune, who scored twice before half-time. His goals in the eighth and 39th minutes put the French side 2-1 ahead and shifted the momentum in their favour.
Galatasaray restored parity just before the interval. Aleksei Batrakov made it 2-2 in the 44th minute, converting after Roland Sallai had provided the assist.
The hosts completed the turnaround seven minutes into the second half when Nabil Bentaleb put through his own net. Osimhen then made sure of the points by scoring Galatasaray’s fourth goal in the 61st minute.
The result gave Galatasaray a notable victory over Lille, with Osimhen finding the net against the club he previously represented.
In Italy, Champions League debutants Como produced one of the competition’s biggest results by beating Premier League giants Manchester United 4-1.
Nico Paz opened the scoring after 118 seconds before creating Como’s second goal for Tasos Douvikas in the 49th minute.
Paz added a second of his own eight minutes later to put Como firmly in control, and Jacobo Ramon headed in the home side’s fourth in the 76th minute.
Manchester United could only manage a late consolation. Substitute Joshua Zirkzee beat the offside trap to reach a cross from Amad Diallo and scored in stoppage time.
Como’s early breakthrough also created an unwanted record for United. They became the first English side to concede inside the opening two minutes of consecutive major European matches.
United had suffered a similarly early setback eight days earlier, when they conceded after the first minute against Atletico Madrid.
