Erling Haaland has made a name for himself both on and off the pitch as one of the biggest stars of world football.

The Manchester City forward is one of the most prolific strikers on the planet.

While Norway did not emerge victorious at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the 26-year-old’s goals propelled his national team from one victory to another over the summer tournament, and cemented himself as a national hero by bringing the squad into the quarter-finals for the first time ever.

Alongside him every step of the way was his long-term girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen, with whom he shares a child.

Here’s everything we know about Isabel, as she is expected to appear alongside Haaland at this evening’s Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The pair grew up together in Bryne, a small town in Norway. They were both part of the same local youth football team, joining at the age of five.

In an October 2025 YouTube video, Haaland admitted: “She played football. We met and all of that. It’s nice because you understand football.”

They reconnected years later in 2021 as adults when Haaland was playing for Borussia Dortmund.

During an interview with NRK, Haaland revealed: “She sent me a message. But she played for the same club I played for, Bryne. So she checked me out; I didn’t check her out.”

Isabel typically keeps a low profile but in recent years, she has been stepping into the spotlight via her social media account, which boasts over two million followers.

Here, she shares glimpses of her life on the road with Haaland, as well as fashion, beauty and lifestyle content.

In March 2026, she told MinMote: "I would definitely say I’ve always been interested in fashion.

“For so many years, I lived in my football clothes...I’ve become more mature with my style, and I look at fashion in a different way than I did before.

In December 2024, the couple entered a new chapter of life together when they welcomed their first child, a son.

They have chosen to keep their child out of the public eye and have not disclosed his name.

"My relationship with fashion now is that it reflects my personality and my mood. I definitely think my style has changed since motherhood. I don’t want to wear anything too uncomfortable because I have to be able to run after him,” she disclosed earlier this year.

Her exact age has not been revealed, although she is understood to be between 22 and 25.

The family primarily live in a mansion in Cheshire, around 30 minutes away from Manchester City’s home ground.
