Algiers — CR Belouizdad moved to the top of the Algerian Ligue 1 Mobilis standings after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over JS Saoura on Monday, 2 November 2026.
Tunisian forward Mohamed Ben Hammouda scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot as CR Belouizdad extended their unbeaten start to the league campaign.
The encounter was goalless at half-time, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut opportunities during a closely contested opening period.
CR Belouizdad made changes at the break, introducing Mohamed Yasser Chelfaoui, and the substitute quickly influenced the contest.
Chelfaoui was brought down inside the penalty area early in the second half, earning the hosts a spot-kick. Ben Hammouda stepped up and confidently converted in the 51st minute to give CR Belouizdad the lead.
The hosts subsequently managed their advantage, keeping JS Saoura from finding an equaliser and securing all three points.
The victory means CR Belouizdad have recorded five wins and two draws from their opening seven league matches, collecting 17 points and remaining unbeaten.
The result places CR Belouizdad at the summit of the Ligue 1 Mobilis table, ahead of their domestic rivals as the campaign gathers momentum.
JS Kabylie occupy second place, one point behind the leaders, following their 1-0 victory over newly promoted JS El Biar.
MC Oran are third, two points behind CR Belouizdad, while USM Alger sit fourth after defeating CS Constantine 2-0.
Defending champions MC Alger are also in contention despite having played fewer matches because of their CAF Champions League commitments. They defeated USM Khenchela 2-0 to move to 13 points from five matches, leaving them four points behind the leaders with two games in hand.
CR Belouizdad will now turn their attention to their next league assignment as they look to maintain their unbeaten run and strengthen their position in the title race.
