MAS Fes and ASEC Mimosas meet in crucial African Champions League tie

Maghreb de Fes host ASEC Mimosas on Sunday 18 October 2026 in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the African Champions League.

The match will be played at the stade d’Honneur de Meknes in Morocco, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 local time. That is 20:00 in France and 18:00 in Cote d’Ivoire (GMT).

The game will be broadcast in Morocco by Arryadia TNT and SNRT Live, while viewers in Cote d’Ivoire can watch on RTI La 3. It is also expected to be available through several international packages, including beIN Sports MENA, Canal+ Sport Afrique and SuperSport, subject to availability in individual countries.

The two historic clubs are competing for an advantage before the return match in Cote d’Ivoire. The winners of the tie will move closer to securing a place in the group stage of the competition.

Maghreb de Fes are back in the African Champions League after a lengthy absence and have made a strong start to their continental campaign. They eliminated Burkina Faso’s Rahimo FC in the first qualifying round, winning the home leg 4-1 before completing the job with a 0-0 draw away from home.

ASEC Mimosas had a more difficult route through the opening round. The Ivorian side drew 1-1 away to Togo’s ASC Kara, then secured qualification with a 2-1 victory in Abidjan.

Their domestic form, however, has been mixed at the start of the season. ASEC suffered a 1-0 defeat by Yamoussoukro FC before drawing 0-0 with Stella Club and 1-1 with AFAD.

Both clubs have strong continental ambitions. Maghreb de Fes won the CAF Confederation Cup in 2011 and are seeking a return to the upper levels of African football. ASEC Mimosas, meanwhile, were crowned African champions in 1998 and are aiming to reach the group stage once again.

The second leg will be played in Cote d’Ivoire, where ASEC Mimosas will look to settle the tie in front of their home supporters.
