Liverpool are preparing a €100m offer for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, according to Fichajes.
The Uruguay international is being considered as a potential replacement for Alexis Mac Allister, whose future at Anfield is described as uncertain.
Liverpool believe Valverde would be an ideal addition to their midfield and are ready to make a significant financial commitment to secure his services.
However, Real Madrid are unlikely to agree to the 28-year-old’s departure despite Liverpool’s reported interest. Valverde is regarded as an important player for Jose Mourinho.
The most likely alternative for Liverpool’s midfield recruitment is understood to be Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara.
Valverde has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
