2026 Ballon d’Or: Edouard Mendy Ranks Ninth in Yachine Trophy

Edouard Mendy finished in ninth place in the 2026 Yashin Trophy, which honors the best goalkeeper of the season.

The Senegalese goalkeeper for Al-Ahli has thus returned to the top 10 after failing to make the rankings in the last three editions.

After finishing second in 2021 and fourth in 2022, Mendy ranks this year behind Yassine Bounou and ahead of Gregor Kobel.

Unai Simon won the trophy, ahead of David Raya and Thibaut Courtois.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper is being recognized after a season marked by Al-Ahli’s continental championship and Senegal’s African title.

This ninth-place finish confirms his standing among the goalkeepers recognized by the jury.
