Spotify Camp Nou took the opportunity to pay tribute to the CD Tenerife player Jesús de Miguel and the victims of the recent high speed train accident between the towns on Los Yébenes and Urda in Spain. Prior to kick off between Barça and Aston Villa on match day four of the Champions League, the two sets of players and the fans carried out a minute's silence in memory of the Tenerife striker and those killed in the railway accident in the province of Toledo.
The FC Barcelona players also extended their condolences by wearing a black armband during the game against the Premier League side.
For their part, as a sign of respect following the tragic death of Jesús de Miguel Alameda and in memory of the recent train accident in Spain, UEFA have also decided that the UEFA Champions League anthem should not be played.
