Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has delivered a scathing assessment of Manchester United’s struggling squad, labeling their recent performances an absolute “disaster” as the team prepares for a high-stakes trip to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Obi One Podcast, the Nigerian football icon didn’t hold back when analyzing the collective quality within the current United dressing room, insisting that the players are failing to meet the basic standards required at Old Trafford.

“Collectively, these Manchester United players are not good enough,” Mikel stated candidly during the podcast discussion, addressing the mounting frustration among fans and former players alike.

Emphasizing how difficult the team has been to watch in recent weeks, the former Champions League winner described their style of play and execution as shockingly poor. “They were dreadful to watch, awful to watch. It was a disaster,” he added.

The explosive comments come at a critical juncture for the Red Devils, who are desperately searching for consistency and redemption as they gear up to face Chelsea in their upcoming Premier League fixture this Saturday.

With pressure mounting on the squad to deliver a response on the pitch, Stamford Bridge will play host to a blockbuster encounter where United must prove that Mikel’s grim assessment of their capabilities is wide of the mark.
