Two in-form teams face off on Sunday afternoon as the Reds, having won three consecutive games across all competitions, host the Seagulls, who have reeled off four-straight victories in the Premier League while scoring 15 goals and conceding zero.

The game has all the hallmarks of a potential classic, then, and Isak told Liverpoolfc.com: “It’s definitely one of the tougher opponents that you have in the league but I think in the Premier League in today’s football, there are no easy games.

“So, I don’t think you need any motivation to do that, I think it’s already there. We know it’s going to be tough, but we play at home and we have to go to win.”

After missing two games due to injury, Isak returned to Liverpool’s starting XI for last weekend’s trip to Brentford and duly scored the winner to earn a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

The No.9 then came off the bench during Tuesday’s Champions League win against Villarreal and said he ‘feels good’.

Isak added: “It was a short time I was out so I don’t feel like I’ve missed too much, so I feel good. It feels like the team is in a good place so yeah, excited.”

The Sweden striker has scored five goals in six Premier League appearances so far this season, with four of those directly responsible for securing wins away to Ipswich Town, AFC Bournemouth and Brentford.

When asked if he has specific goal targets in mind, he replied: “No, not really. Just try to be on the scoresheet for every game and try to make them count as important ones as well.”

The Reds have scored 12 times in their last three outings and Isak believes there is even more to come from the attacking unit.

“I think the potential is super high, which is good because I think we can do much better as well so the ceiling is definitely high,” he said.
