Nigeria’s U15 boys, Future Eagles defeated Cyprus 2-1 on Monday morning, before a 1-1 draw with Pakistan on Monday afternoon meant they remained unbeaten after the group stage matches of the ongoing FIFA U15 World Cup and Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Against Cyprus, Wisdom Oche scored Nigeria’s first goal before captain Timothy Ogar Ijachi, who overcame a knock he suffered in the 3-3 draw with The Gambia on Sunday, netted Nigeria’s winner.

In the afternoon, Ijachi was again on song, against Pakistan, to pull Nigeria level in the 25th minute after the Pakistanis had taken the lead one minute into the second period.

With FIFA operating a no-elimination format for this inaugural competition, the Future Eagles await the next tier they will fall into and then continue their chase for honours at the competition.
