Back
Gennaro Gattuso is expected to make some changes to his lineup against Sassuolo, but the scale of the rotation remains unclear.
Lazio Will Play at Sassuolo on Tuesday
The Biancocelesti will be keen to extend their glorious run and earn their eighth win in the first nine rounds of the Serie A campaign. But for the first time this season, Gattuso’s men won’t be able to count on a full week’s rest, as they’ll be hosted by the Neroverdi on Tuesday (18:30 local time).
Diogo Leite to Replace Oliver Provstgaard
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Oliver Provstgaard will almost certainly be dropped to the bench for the first time this season. Diogo Leite, who came on for the Dane in the second half against Parma due to a yellow card, is expected to make his full Lazio debut. Nevertheless, the other three defensive slots are all up for grabs.
More Changes at the Back?
As the source explains, Danilho Doekhi is challenging Josip Sutalo for the other centre-back role, but the Croatian remains the favourite. Moreover, Gattuso could opt for a change or two at full-back, as Nuno Tavares and Romano Floriani Mussolini ran more than any other player on Saturday. Therefore, Alfonso Pedraza and Manuel Lazzari are hoping to get the nod.
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru Eyeing a Starting Role in Sassuolo vs Lazio
In the middle of the park, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is pushing for a starting role at the expense of either Davide Frattesi or Kenneth Taylor. On the contrary, Reda Belahyane’s spot is practically secured, as Nicolo Rovella remains out, while Danilo Cataldi is expected to make his season debut off the bench.
A Couple of Doubts Upfront for Gattuso
In attack, Mattia Zaccagni is guaranteed a starting role on the left side. Tijjani Noslin and Gustav Isaksen are also the favourites to maintain their places in the attacking trident, but Andrea Pinamonti and Matteo Cancellieri are in the fray.
The former Sassuolo striker will be itching for playing time on his return to the Mapei Stadium after missing the weekend action through illness, while the winger has also recovered from a knee injury.
Lazio Probable XI (4-3-3): Mandas; Floriani Mussolini (Lazzari), Sutalo (Doekhi), Diogo Leite, Tavares (Pedraza); Frattesi, Belahyane, Taylor (Dele-Bashiru); Isaksen (Cancellieri), Noslin (Pinamonti), Zaccagni.
