Baku, Azerbaijan — Nigeria’s Future Eagles came from behind to secure a dramatic 2–2 draw against Jordan at the FIFA U15 World Cup and Festival on Sunday, 25 October 2026.

The result marked Nigeria’s second consecutive draw in the tournament after their 3–3 encounter with South Sudan on Saturday.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the two teams played out a goalless first period before the contest opened up in the second half.

Ogar, Muftau Score for Nigeria

Captain Timothy Ogar gave Nigeria the lead in the second period, but Jordan responded five minutes later to restore parity.

Jordan subsequently moved ahead, leaving the Future Eagles facing the prospect of their first defeat in the competition.

However, Abdulrazak Muftau struck with the last kick of the match to earn Nigeria a share of the points and preserve their unbeaten start.

The draw means Patrick Bassey’s side have scored five goals and conceded five across their opening two matches.

The Gambia Next for Future Eagles

Nigeria are scheduled to face fellow West Africans The Gambia later on Sunday as they continue their Group AD campaign.

The Future Eagles will then play Cyprus and Pakistan on Monday, 26 October, as the group-stage fixtures continue.

The inaugural FIFA U15 World Cup and Festival is being played in an eight-a-side format, with matches consisting of two 20-minute halves.

Teams’ performances in the opening stage will determine their placement in the competition’s subsequent tiers, with the next phase scheduled for 28 and 29 October and the tier finals on 30 October.

Nigeria will be aiming to turn their two draws into victories as they seek to finish the group stage strongly.
