According to a report by Metro on Saturday October 17, 2026, Chelsea continued their improving form with a 2-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, with Pedro Neto emerging as the standout performer at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Neto scored both goals for Xabi Alonso’s side, producing two excellent finishes to secure all three points and earn an 8/10 rating. His pace and directness caused Everton problems throughout the game, particularly from the right-hand side.
Morgan Rogers also impressed and was rated 8/10. The England international produced a superb piece of skill before Chelsea’s opening goal and delivered a clever backheel that helped spark the move, although Jorrel Hato was credited with the assist.
Hato, Caicedo, Henderson, Palmer and Acheampong all received 7/10 for their contributions. Hato’s pace and strength were particularly important in the build-up to Neto’s first goal, while Caicedo provided an assured performance as captain and came close to scoring with a spectacular volley that struck the woodwork.
Cole Palmer worked hard to break down Everton’s defence and remained a threat despite failing to score or provide an assist.
At the other end, Joao Pedro endured a difficult afternoon and was one of Chelsea’s least influential players. The striker was rated 6/10 after struggling while leading the line alone, although he did have a first-half penalty appeal turned down.
Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez also received 6/10 before being forced off after a nasty clash of heads with Jarrad Branthwaite. He had earlier made an important save to deny Thierno Barry.
Chelsea’s defensive unit, however, deserves credit for keeping Everton out and securing their first Premier League clean sheet since January.
