According to a report by London Evening Standard on Sunday October 25, 2026, Liverpool have received a major boost ahead of their Premier League meeting with Brighton, with Bradley Barcola fit to feature after returning to full training.
Florian Wirtz also returns to the starting lineup, while Dominik Szoboszlai remains unavailable with a hamstring injury as the Reds prepare to welcome Brighton to Clash.
Barcola had raised concerns after missing Liverpool’s group training session on Thursday. However, the French winger completed a normal training session on Friday and is available for selection. The £123 million summer signing from Paris Saint-Germain has featured in every Premier League match since arriving at Anfield and is set to continue that impressive record.
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola confirmed that the winger’s absence from Thursday’s session was simply part of a workload management programme. His return provides an important boost ahead of a demanding run of fixtures.
Wirtz has also been rewarded with a starting place after scoring as a substitute in midweek. His inclusion comes at the expense of Trey Nyoni and allows Ryan Gravenberch to move into a more natural central midfield role alongside Alexis Mac Allister.
Alexander Isak leads the attack after being selected ahead of Lewis Koumas. Barcola and Cody Gakpo will provide support from the wide areas, with Rio Ngumoha beginning the match on the bench despite impressing in recent appearances.
Liverpool head into the contest after defeating Villarreal in the Champions League. Sunday's meeting with Brighton marks the second of four consecutive home fixtures across three competitions. The Reds will subsequently face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup before taking on Arsenal in the Premier League.
However, Liverpool remain without several important players. Szoboszlai is training individually while recovering from his hamstring problem, whereas Jeremie Frimpong faces approximately a month on the sidelines because of a muscle injury.
Hugo Ekitike, Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley are also unavailable. Victor Munoz remains a doubt after sustaining a minor knee injury during last weekend's comeback victory over Brentford.
Liverpool Confirmed Starting Lineup: Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Barcola, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak.
